COVID-19 Infection Prevention & Control Policy

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

We have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible and prior to re-opening the salon we have implemented changes which we would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been shut, we have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry.

Booking Appointments

If any of the staff feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again or ask for a full refund or voucher.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness.

Please be aware some (not all) of our treatments have had a slight price increase. This has been put in place to help to cover some of the extensive additional safety and hygiene measures we have put in place to enable us to open again.

Visiting the Salon

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving.

Please limit the personal belongings you bring with you to your appointment. Please arrive alone for your appointment do not bring other family members or a friend.

You will have access to hand sanitiser as soon as you enter the salon. You will then be directed to soap and hot water to wash your hands before your treatment when the facilities are available.

Staff will be checking their temperatures 3 times during the day and we may temperature check you on entry to the salon.

Our waiting area and treatment stations have been changed slightly to adhere to social distancing, screens have been added to our manicure tables, pedicure chairs, waxing couch and reception desk.

In our manicure and pedicure areas there will be a plastic box for your personal belongings these will be disinfected between every client. In our treatment rooms there is a chair/stool to place your clothes. These have been covered in plastic wrap and will be disinfected after every client.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, chairs, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised as normal in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

We request that you to wear a face mask/covering or when you visit the salon and during your treatment if is this is appropriate. You will be able to purchase a disposable from us should you forget.

Please don’t be surprised or upset if we use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / face masks / aprons where appropriate.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority we can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client

At present we only able to offer water in disposable cups as a refreshment, please do not bring any other food or drinks to consume in the salon.

Our treatments

We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely.  We are currently not permitted to carry out any facial treatments including waxing (on the face) brow and eyelash treatments until further notice.

During your treatment

Our staff understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before and after your treatment and will be wearing gloves.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any questions regarding your treatments, please let us know and we will do what we can to answer any concerns.

After the treatment

In order to avoid handling of cash and to reduce time spent at the reception desk we would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card (contactless where possible) or in advance by phone. If your payment is in cash we will ask you to place it in a separate box. We are happy to call you at the end of the day to make your next appointment.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding.
